Hi Ruth. Apologies but I'm going to jump in here because I can see you going down the wrong path. The right path is to start with the 'Jetpack Jones base mesh' (the flow). Even though your character is a little different, the base mesh is still the same - It doesn't change even if you're going to texture a face on. You just fill in the eye and mouth holes etc and smooth it out. The mesh you've created has a 'best guess' feel and is not what you need. It has no flow and is a in essence a 'block'. Use what you've learnt.
