I have been looking at the design of ethel and earnest, and how this film has used compositing techniques. I will also be looking into rotoscoping where I will be tracing original footage of my Grandad in his workshop. For this, I have found a useful video using rotoscoping techniques in photoshop.

Premise - My Grandad's Rocking Horses

My Grandad and my Mum 

The main subject for my animation will be my Grandad. He used to create gorgeous rocking horses out of mahogany fully from scratch which I adored playing with from a very young age. After a lot of digging around, I have been able to find images of him with the horses he loved so much. Below is a collection of just some of these precious memories that I would like to use as inspiration for my animation.

I have also found an old videotape of my Grandad with his horses - currently, I am awaiting the tape to be transferred into a digital version so I can look through the hour-long footage to see if any can be added through-out my animation.

After talking with Alan we have realised that our ideas were adding onto the existing films to create the jokes, so after some re-planning, we are coming up with bloopers/tropes that are more based on that film as not to pull away from the project brief, we will be taking inspiration from videos such as CinemaSins found on You-Tube.

Had an amazing 5 day trip to Rome, we went to the Colosseum, Vatican, Sistine Chapel, Pantheon, Roman Baths and much more, it was a really worthwhile break and inspiring trip! Would Definately go again 😄
